A credit score is basically the adult-version of a report card, but instead of the grade sticking with you for a semester, it’s with you for life and will impact everything from your home and auto loans to your utilities and even your phone plan.
Scores range from 300 to 850 and are designed to help lenders determine the risk of lending to you and the likelihood of on-time repayment. A score of 720 or above is usually considered “excellent”. It is important to stay up-to-date on your score.
